Angelo Ogbonna’s contract may be extended by West Ham if he’s out for season due to ACL injury
Angelo Ogbonna’s contract will be extended by West Ham United for another time if he’s ruled out for the season by his
anterior cruciate ligament injury, The Athletic understands.
West Ham blazoned on Tuesday that the protector had had a checkup on his right knee which revealed an ACL injury.
Ogbonna’s contract expires at the end of the season but West Ham are understood to hold an option to extend it by a
time. It’s understood that they will exercise this in the event of a lengthy injury to prop his recovery.
The West Ham protector started Sunday’s 32 palm against Liverpool but had to be replaced by Craig Dawson in the
22nd nanosecond of the match after picking up an injury.
Ogbonna has been a reliable player since joining from Juventus in 2015. He has scored 13 pretensions in 202 mug and
league appearances and finished runnerup for the Hammer of the Year award in 2020.
